What the service is

CertSeven checks whether a finished product certificate contains the seven content requirements of 16 CFR 1110.11(a), and helps sellers prepare the documents the US authorities expect for a consumer product: from the official texts it quotes, it lists the rules that name a kind of product, then prepares the certificate, the sheet to copy into CPSC's Product Registry and the CPSC annex for parcels.

The paid services are for professionals, used for their business.

What it is not

Not legal advice. Whether a rule applies to your product is your decision as the certifier; CertSeven lists the rules the texts attach to a kind of product and never states that a rule applies to yours, or that a certificate is compliant.

Not testing or certification. We are not a laboratory and not a conformity assessment body. A certificate must rest on real testing that you have obtained.

Not a filing. We transmit nothing to CPSC, CBP, ACE or any postal operator. You or your customs broker file; you enter your data in the Product Registry and attach the annex to your parcels.

No warranty that a document prepared here will be accepted by any authority, carrier, broker, marketplace or customer.

Your responsibility

16 CFR 1110.15 provides that the certifier remains legally responsible for the information in the certificate, including its validity, accuracy, completeness and availability. Using CertSeven does not move that responsibility to us. You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you enter and for identifying every rule that applies to your product.

Your account

The account opens with your email address and no password: a sign-in link is emailed to you. You are responsible for access to that address.

You can download your data and delete your account at any time from the Account page.

Plans and prices

Checking whether a product is concerned is free. Generating a product's documents is paid: 19.99 € excluding VAT per product; or a monthly subscription at 39 € excluding VAT covering 10 products added per billing period; or an unlimited monthly subscription at 99 € excluding VAT.

Payments are handled by Creem as merchant of record: Creem takes the payment, issues the invoice and adds the VAT that applies to your country at checkout.

On the 10-product subscription, adding an 11th product in the same period is refused until the next period, unless you move to the unlimited subscription.

Correcting the documents of a product already paid for is free, as often as needed.

Cancellation and refunds

A subscription can be cancelled at any time from subscription management (the Creem portal); it stays active until the end of the paid period. The current period is not refunded.

A one-off product purchase not yet used to generate a product's documents can be refunded within 14 days on request.

Cancelling, reaching a quota or a refund only stops new products from being added. Documents already generated stay available in your catalogue.

Availability, and if we stop

We give no uptime guarantee. If we discontinue the service, account holders are emailed at least 90 days ahead; during that period the catalogue, downloads and data export stay open.

A published certificate is also contained in its own link, so certificate links will keep resolving for at least twelve months from the announcement. Keep the PDF or standalone copy of each certificate with your records.

Regulations and guidance quoted on this site are reproduced word for word from their source, with the date we last checked them. They change; the official source is authoritative.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the last twelve months. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
